For as long as I can remember I have been sketching in one form or another. It is the one singular listening aid I had growing up; a large portion of notes for classes turned into “doodles.” Even when I was doing Japanese interpreting I would leverage sketches as a way to keep my mind unfettered and strength my ability to do the style of interpreting I prefer which is listening and speaking simultaneously. For the curious, sketches from 2003 and 2004 are from this period of activity.
