Unigon Priestess

I started this piece in Paper.app on my iPad. I was more curious whether I could use the app for quick sketching or not, and of course, you can. Unfortunately, I did not find its export features usable – for whatever reason my app just kept stalling – so I ended up taking a screenshot of the image in order to export. Once exported, I just imported into Procreate.app like any other image I might have drawn.

Rendering Practice

I’m a slut of line art. Give me a pencil or a pen, and I can draw lines all day long. But recently I’ve really wanted to improve on both my painterly and rendering skills. Thus my exploration of color theory, et cetera.

It is of no particular note that thirty years after James Bond’s “From Russia with Love” premiered in theaters that I found myself in Japan, but there is nonetheless an analog to be found between Kronsteen’s vain attempt to steal a cryptograph, and my own attempts to break the code that is Japan.
